A Chicago native, David Roth is a multi-talented singer, songwriter, recording artist, keynote speaker,
and workshop leader. Now residing on Cape Cod, he was back in the Midwest this fall for this ninth
concert at Dancing Dragonfly Winery. David’s performances range from poignant to improbable; from holistic to hilarious, and his original songs have found their way to Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, and several Chicken Soup for the Soul books. One song, “Rocket Science,” even went up on the Space Shuttle Atlantis’s May 2009 mission to repair the Hubble Telescope. With such prestigious credentials, we are so happy to consider David Roth a friend of the winery since our opening in 2013.
David donates his time and talents to, among others, the Songs of Love Foundation. This national
nonprofit organization creates free, personalized, original songs to uplift children and teens currently
facing tough medical, physical, or emotional challenges. The afternoon of his 2022 DDW concert, David collaborated to create a special Songwriting Workshop as an effort to bring the joy of music to a young man facing substantial health challenges. Through Songs of Love, we hope they can enjoy this “Medicine of Music.” David and the guests of the Songwriting Workshop co-created this a custom song, which David produced after returning to his home studio.
The song is available to listen here.
Jackson for Songs of Love
by Graham Webster, Bill Bluhm, Barbara McAfee, James M. Sulzer, Barbara Luke, Don Frantz, Kevin
Nascene, and David Roth
Who’s that in the limo going to Disneyland
Plutos’ riding shotgun, man oh man oh man
Who’s that guy in Fountain Valley who really loves those Bills
Those football guys from Buffalo, touchdowns, tackles, thrills
This person must be Jackson, Jackson is the man
Jackson is the very best and we’re your biggest fans
Jackson’s got the biggest heart, he’s got the magic touch
Jackson you’re our shining star, we love you very much
When it comes to favorite foods, Jackson’s got a few
Sour candy, Mac and cheese, from Jackson’s point of view
And sherbet full of rainbows like the ones up in the sky
Who’s the one who loves all these, who is this special guy?
This person must be Jackson, Jackson is the man
Jackson is the very best and we’re your biggest fans
Jackson’s got the biggest heart, he’s got the magic touch
Jackson you’re our shining star, we love you very much
Jackson loves John Denver, it’s no wonder why
Country Roads and Sunshine, Rocky Mountain High
Jackson playing Pokemon, he loves his video games
Math and checkers, more than that, very special names
Brother Thomas, Grandma, his Mother and his Dad
Who’s the one who loves them all, who is this special lad?
This person must be Jackson, Jackson is the man
Jackson is the very best and we’re your biggest fans
Jackson’s got the biggest heart, he’s got the magic touch
Jackson you’re our shining star, we love you very much
This person must be Jackson, Jackson you're the man
Jackson you're the very best and we’re your biggest fans
Jackson’s got the biggest heart, you've got the magic touch
Jackson you’re our shining star, we love you very much
