Food Licensing & Wisconsin Sales Tax
State of Wisconsin and Polk County Permit Requirements
NON-FOOD VENDORS: A completed Wisconsin Temporary Event Operator and Seller Information Form S-240 may be required of your business to sell in this state. Many small businesses are exempt from this requirement under the Occasional Sales Rule. FOOD VENDORS: In addition to collecting sales tax, vendors selling food to the public are required by Polk County Health Department to have the following documentation on file here at the winery: 1. State Retail Food License for the kitchen your food is made in, and 2. A WI catering license to sell food at a location other than your licensed kitchen OR a seasonal temporary event permit for Polk County.
